American Dynamics Configuration Calculator

Step 1:

  • Description: Optional description field.
  • Quantity: Enter the quantity of cameras used for each model and configuration. For example, identical models with different recording duration and days of storage should be entered on two different lines.
  • Model: Select appropriate camera model.
  • Compression: Supported compression varies per model.
  • Resolution: Select the video resolution for each camera.
  • Frame Rate (FPS): Enter the frame rate the camera will be configured to send.
    • For NVRs and Fisheye Cameras: Multi-imager cameras should be entered with the cumulative image size and frame rate per camera, not per imager.
  • Data Rate (Kbps): This field is calculated, but if required, enter the recommended data rate.
  • Motion Percentage : Enter the number of hours/day recording for the average camera. For continuous recording enter 100. For analytics streams, enter 0. Typical school/office settings frequently average 25%-35% recording system wide, assuming all cameras constantly have enough lighting to avoid low-light data degradation.
  • Days of Storage: Enter the number of days of video storage required for the camera(s). For motion based recording, do not include any days for which no motion is expected such as holidays.
  • Analog Cameras: Displays the total number of configured analog cameras
  • IP Cameras: Displays the total number of configured IP cameras
  • Storage Data Rate: Displays the instantaneous camera data rate to be written to the server(s). This value is calculated from the above camera fields.
  • Camera Data Rate: Displays the peak instantaneous camera data rate to be sent over the network. This field is calculated from the above camera fields.
  • Storage Required: Total amount of storage required for all cameras on the row.
  • Compatible Servers: The number of server configurations that meet the camera specifications. If this number is 0, increase the maximum number of servers.
  • Add Stream: For cameras that support multi-streaming, this button will appear. Click to configure an additional stream. The number of cameras, make, and model will be pre-populated and cannot be modified.

Step 2:

  • Select the desired server with the select button. Quantities may be adjusted with the "+" and "-" buttons.

Step 3:

  • Available options for the server(s) selected in Step 2 are displayed. Select options with the select button.

Step 4:

  • • Project Name, Dealer Name, Project Location, and Project Description are optional fields that may be used to identify the project on your exported report.
  • Export Configuration: This provides the option of exporting your configuration in .pdf format.

Although the solutions calculator allows configuration of multiple streams at full resolution, the Illustra Flex cameras have streaming limitations which are dependent on stream combinations configured.

Please refer to camera documentation for details.
Although the solutions calculator allows configuration of 5 streams, the Illustra Fisheye camera has limitations on the dewarped streaming combinations possible.

Please refer to camera documentation for details.
