This latest release, compatible with all exacqVision Hybrid and IP video surveillance systems, incorporates new features and enhancements, and continues our quest for rapid, incremental updates.

Version 4.7 is available for download here. Key features in the 4.7 Release include:

Enhanced Search Page

New Client Login/Logout capability

Dewarping for 360-degree lenses and cameras

New Enterprise Notifications page

New camera additions and enhancements

Here are some of the features in detail:

Enhanced Search Page
Version 4.7 has a freshly-designed search page, the first of many search page improvements coming. The new search layout is more intuitive, and includes a number of new search features, including the ability to set start time and end time. The search results appear in a dynamic timeline that scales appropriate to the start and end time parameters. The cleaner layout enables more screen real estate for the video windows.

A close-up view of the new search bar is here:

The new Search Page is in the 4.7 versions of exacqVision Start, Pro, and Enterprise.

Client Login/Logout
A new enhanced security feature in version 4.7 adds the ability, on a per-server basis, to require user login for each connection. This new setup option appears on the Add Systems page:

When that login parameter is chosen, a prompt for user login credentials will appear when attempting to connect to that system:

The new Client Login is included in the 4.7 versions of exacqVision Start, Pro and Enterprise.

Real-time Dewarping for 360-degree cameras
Support has been added for real-time dewarping for 360-degree cameras and lenses, including those from ImmerVision and Sentry360. Expanded Digital PTZ Settings on the Camera Setup page enable configuration of the 360-degree parameters:

In the fully zoomed-out mode, the camera shows the entire view in the warped mode:

Using exacqVision’s Digital PTZ, you can zoom in and pan around the image in a fully dewarped mode. You can also set up multiple camera views, giving the effect of multiple, individual cameras watching different parts of the viewing field:

Version 4.6 of exacqVision Video Management Software has just been released. This latest release, compatible with all exacqVision Hybrid and IP video surveillance systems, incorporates new features and enhancements, and continues our quest for rapid, incremental updates.

Version 4.6 is available for download here. Key features in the 4.6 Release include:

Audit Trail

Enterprise Cameras page

New screen layouts

Redesigned Notifications page

IP Camera Enhancements and Updates

exacqVision Start – New low-cost VMS

Here are some of the features in detail:

Audit Trail
Audit Trail is a major new feature in 4.6. Audit trail allows for easy and quick searching on users and activities on the system. Select the timeframe and hit search, and Audit Trail lists all user activity on the system, including logins and logouts, configuration settings, viewing/closing cameras, trigger activities, user activities, and more. A quick-search box instantly filters the list to the desired content. For example, typing in "soft trigger" instantly returns just those user events associated with soft triggers.

Specific events can be searched, returning instant results. For example, a search on users who activated a "soft trigger" displays this in real-time:

Enterprise Cameras
The new Enterprise Cameras tab in Version 4.6 enables the viewing of all IP cameras on all enterprise-enabled servers on one screen. The Enterprise Cameras page lists the following

• System name
• IP Camera name
• IP Address
• Connection Status
• Record Status
• MAC Address

• Camera Type
• Model number
• Firmware version
• Framerate
• Resolution
• Compression format

The Enterprise Cameras tab appears under the My Enterprise section of the tree:

Enterprise Cameras tab shows all of the cameras in the entire enterprise system, on all servers:

A closer view of the screen:

Easily search for specific cameras, firmware versions, model numbers, etc:

The results are returned instantly:

You can also immediately jump to a cameras setup page by double clicking, or you can right click on any camera in the list and get the exacqReplay instant replay:

On an enterprise system with possibly hundreds of cameras, this feature is invaluable in keeping track of cameras, firmware versions, camera health, etc.

New Screen Layouts
Additional views and layouts have been added, including the 3×2 wide view:

Redesigned Notifications page
The Notifications page has been completely redesigned with a more intuitive, tabbed layout for setting up e-mail notifications based on events.

Version 4.5 of exacqVision Video Management Software has just been released. This latest release, compatible with all exacqVision Hybrid and IP video surveillance systems, incorporates new features and enhancements, and continues our quest for rapid, incremental updates.

Version 4.5 is available for download here. Key features in the 4.5 Release include:

Serial keywords used as Event Linking and Monitoring Sources

New RTSP Plugin – Video/Audio Streaming from RTSP Devices

ONVIF PTZ & Presets added

Samsung 5000-Series IP Cameras Supported through ONVIF

Bosch ONVIF Enhancements

New Panasonic WJ-GXE500 encoder support

Panasonic protocol analog PTZ enhancements

Audio support for Panasonic IP cameras

Arecont – privacy mask enabled in latest models

Enterprise System License Management from My Systems Page

Finnish Language Support

Here are some of the features in detail:

Serial Keywords used as Event Linking and Monitoring Sources
A major new feature in 4.5 is the ability to create unique events on serial keywords, either from UART or IP serial ports. By tapping into the power of exacqVision event linking, creating unique events on serial keywords greatly enhances the configurability of exacqVision to act on events. Some of the key uses of this are:

Point of Sale (POS) – By using keywords, specific red-flag transactions could be subject to additional scrutiny, such as logging, e-mail alerts, move to a specific PTZ preset, etc. The keyword events are also visible in the graphical search timeline, creating an easy path for case building.

Video Analytics – Using the event per keyword also opens up support for a host of video analytic packages. In particular, keywords used with the new RTSP plugin (also in 4.5) enable the use of the full analytic functions with VideoIQ IP cameras (discussed further below).

Access Control – Using keywords with access control systems can enable video recording or other actions. Keywords can come from an access control server, or directly from IP readers.

Easy to Deploy – Using keywords with exacqVision’s powerful event linking function means integrators can easily configure systems to respond to a wide variety of events, all with zero programming.

Keyword Demo – We’ve setup a web page to demo the event-per-keyword functionality, here:
http://www.exacq.com/epk

In this demo, you can type in "clock" or "front door" or "side door" or "disco" or combinations of keywords. Pre-defined event linking will swing the PTZ camera to those locations and, if selected, turn on the famous Exacq disco ball via the relay outputs.

New RTSP Plugin – Video/Audio Streaming from RTSP Devices
Version 4.5 includes a new Real Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP) plugin, enabling the connecting of a wide variety of video devices including a large population of IP cameras. RTSP is a widely-used streaming protocol, and most every IP camera vendor supports it to one degree or another. Our RTSP plugin is based on live555, which is the code base for many streaming applications, including the ubiquitous VLC.

VideoIQ Analytic Cameras – A key benefit of this plugin, combined with the Keyword eventing above, is the ability to use the video analytics found in VideoIQ cameras. Version 4.5 allows the connection of any VideoIQ IP camera, and enables actions to happen based on analytic events from the camera. Analytics available in VideoIQ cameras include:

• Perimeter protection
• Virtual fence or “tripwire”
• Unmanned site protection
• Crowd formation monitoring
• Direction of travel monitoring
• Outdoor inventory control
• Indoor object removed

Large Variety of RTSP Cameras – RTSP is broadly used by IP camera vendors, and as such the RTSP plugin enables the use of most every IP camera, from consumer-grade up through the highest-end cameras. RTSP does not support motion detection at the edge, but is useful when basic video streaming form just about any camera is necessary. A fairly comprehensive listing of available RTSP-supported IP cameras is here.

ONVIF PTZ and Presets Support
The exacqVision ONVIF plugin has been enhanced, adding PTZ, PTZ presets, and relay outputs to the supported commands.

Samsung 5000-Series IP Cameras Supported through ONVIF
Support has been added through ONVIF for the latest generation of Samsung IP cameras, the 5000-Series. These megapixel box and dome cameras include the following models:

System License Management Enhancements on My Systems Page
In Version 4.5 the process of managing and updating system licenses has been greatly enhanced, and can be done right from the My Systems page. Whether a single license key for a single server, or hundreds of license keys for an enterprise installation, the process has been made quick and easy.

Individual License Update -To update individual system license keys, go to the My Systems page, right click on any system in the Subscription column, select Update, and select either Update License from file or Update License from text.

Batch License Update – For enterprise installations with dozens or even hundreds of servers, license update is now entirely automated. A single .CSV file with all MAC addresses and License Keys is generated by Exacq. The user simply imports that one file and it applies the license keys to all servers. The user can also easily export all server license keys for easy updating.

Version 4.1 of exacqVision Video Management Software has just been released. This latest release, compatible with all exacqVision Hybrid and IP video surveillance systems, incorporates new features and enhancements, and continues our quest for rapid, incremental updates.

Version 4.1 is available for download here. Key features in the 4.1 Release:

Serial Data over IP

Viasys Video Analytics Support

Serial Data export to ePlayer

Expanded PTZ functionality

Expanded Maps functionality

Support for new IP camera models from Arecont, Ganz, IQeye, and StarDot

Here are some of the features in detail:

Serial Data over IP
Serial data can now be read over IP ports in addition to standard serial ports. A new window has been added to the Serial Port Setup page to configure the IP serial ports:

A close-up view of the IP Serial Setup window is here:

Up to 64 IP serial ports can be added per server, in addition to the standard RS-232 and RS-485 serial ports. IP serial port profiles are set up the same way as standard serial port profiles. Enabling serial over IP expands the ability of exacqVision servers to integrate with POS and ATM systems, access control systems, alarm systems, and video analytic systems, such as Viasys.

Viasys Video Analytics Support
Viasys is a vendor of video analytics software that resides on the edge and runs on Axis IP cameras, on IQeye Pro-line IP cameras. As analytic events occur, ASCII data is sent over the IP port. Through the use of serial over IP, an exacqVision server can read the serial data from this network port, and trigger recording and other actions based on the associated analytic events.

Viasys routines include intruder detection, perimeter protection, and alarming, and include ability for Adaptive Outdoor Analytics, 3D Video-Awareness, Electronic Fence/Trip Wire, Directional Detection and Sabotage Detection.

In addition to edge analytics, Viasys software also runs on any exacqVision server, enabling full video analytics capability for all IP cameras supported in exacqVision, including Arecont Vision, ACTi, Panasonic, Vivotek, StarDot, and more.

You can download a fully-functioning 30-day trial of Viasys software here. Demo videos of Viasys in action are here.

Serial Data Export to ePlayer
Serial data, whether from serial ports or IP ports, can now be fully exported along with associated video cameras. This export enables the serial data to scroll in real-time with what is happening on the cameras. As the video scrub bar is used to rapidly forward or reverse through video, the serial data scrolls rapidly as well; likewise as you rapidly scroll through serial data, the video stays in sync.

Here’s a sample screenshot of exported video and serial data in the ePlayer:

An exported clip of video and serial data in the ePlayer is available for download here
34.5 MB, requires reseller password

Expanded PTZ Functionality
With Version 4.1, additional commands have been added for mechanical PTZ cameras using the AD-422 and Pelco-D protocol, as well as for all analog and IP mechanical PTZ cameras.

Access PTZ Dome Menu – For Pelco and AD, you can now access the camera’s internal menu from within the exacqVision client (click images for a larger view):

More Joystick Commands – In addition, additional PTZ commands are now available from PTZ consoles and joysticks, including Menu On/Off, Run Patterns, and Flip.

Proportional PTZ via Mouse – New enhancements have been added for propotional PTZ control of mechanical cameras via a mouse. Graphical feedback appears showing the direction of the mouse. As the mouse moves farther from the center crosshair, the pan-tilt speed increases. This feature has always been available with PTZ joysticks, and is now available with the mouse:

Record Dome Patterns – Dome Patterns can now be recorded from within the exacqVision client. A new Dome Pattern section appears on a right-click of a PTZ camera setup:

Dome patterns, both those that have been recorded within exacqVision or recorded externally, can be accessed from the right-click PTZ menu:

S2 NetBox support

Here are some of the features in detail:

New – Mapping
Mapping functionality has been fully integrated into the exacqVision user interface. Maps seamlessly co-exist with cameras, and any view or layout can have any combination of cameras and maps. Maps can be imported from a variety of image file sources, and cameras can be easily placed on maps creating custom map views. Maps can be shared among users both on a stand-alone system and across an enterprise deployment Any number of maps can be created and displayed simultaneously.

An additional mapping feature with the exacqVision Enterprise Server Option, also new for 4.0, allows for maps to be nested in a hierarchical format. You could have a high-level map of the country, with nested maps of campus sites located around the country, each of which in turn could have nested maps of buildings, floors, wings, etc. Video and alarm events from lower-level nested maps can “bubble up” to the top level map, giving the user a global view of all alarms and activities across the enterprise deployment.

Here is a brief video that describes the new Mapping feature:

New – Enterprise Server Option
A new option is available with exacqVision 4.0, the Enterprise Server Option. This optional add-on, enabled at the server level, adds unique user administration and server administration functionality useful in an enterprise deployment of many exacqVision servers.

Enterprise user administration functionality included in the Enterprise Server Option include Active Directory integration for organizations with existing Active Directory/LDAP servers; Enterprise User Administration, for easy user administration across the deployment when Active Directory is not desployed, and Multi-Level Mapping, enabling nested, hierarchical maps-within-maps across the deployment.

Any exacqVision server can have the Enterprise Server Option enabled, at time of order or at any point. Enterprise-enabled servers and standard servers can co-exist, and Enterprise Server functionality will be available on the servers that have the Enterprise option.

Here’s a brief video overview of the new Enterprise Server Option:

Active Directory / LDAP Support
As part of the new exacqVision Enterprise Server Option, support has been added for Active Directory/LDAP integration. System administrators can now configure exacqVision permissions and privileges for accounts that exist on an Active Directory server. For organizations that have implement Active Directory for user accounts, this enables easy deployment of exacqVision in an enterprise setting, as the user accounts are already created.

Connecting to existing Active Directory servers is straightforward. The exacqVision System Setup page now has an additional “Enterprise” tab for adding the Active Directory server information:

Quick Start Guides for configuring exacqVision and Active Directory for Windows, Linux and Mac will be available on our Manuals & Specs page soon.

Enterprise User Setup
For enterprise deployments that do not employ Active Directory, the new Enterprise User Setup has been added to the exacqVision Enterprise Server Option. The Enterprise User Setup allows for user administration across the exacqVision enterprise. A single entry to create or edit a user profile is made, and then automatically pushed out to all selected servers across the deployment.

exacqVision Webserver 2.0
The latest version of the exacqVision Webserver, which is included at no charge with exacqVision software, incorporates a number of enhancements, including multi-server viewing, multi-camera search and playback, PTZ control, and an updated user interface.

exacqVision Webserver allows the use of fully-featured browser-based thin clients. The browser-based client works on any web browser, no ActiveX needed. The browser-based client also functions fully on any javascript-enabled browser, which includes those on the iPhone and Android mobile phone platforms. Additionally, a Simple mode is available for WAP browsers on basic non-smart phones.

The exacqVision Webserver provides an easy way to view video where deploying a full exacqVision client isn’t practical. Law enforcement can access video streams from school surveillance systems from the laptop in their car; organizations could provide limited camera access to the outside world for clients and customers.

Additionally, because the Webserver transcodes the video in real time, it is extremely useful in restricted-bandwidth connections. The Webserver can scale back the resolution on any camera in real-time, in effect enabling multi-streaming from any camera.

Here’s a brief video overview of the exacqVision Webserver 2.0:

S2 NetBox Integration
exacqVision is now supported in the Video Management System for S2 Netbox access control systems. S2 NetBox Version 4.0 Build 376, released in January of 2010 is required, as is the new exacqVision Webserver 2.0. Additionally, the exacqVision OVID driver is needed, available from either the S2 or Exacq websites.

Events handled by S2 NetBox can initiate video recording, change camera telemetry, or pop up video on one of the display monitors. Likewise, exacqVision-initiated events such as motion or video loss can be annunciated on the security system.

We’ll do a more detailed blog post on the S2 integration separately.
