exacqVision 3.5 Released

exacqVision Version 3.5 ReleaseVersion 3.5 of exacqVision Video Management Software has just been released. This latest release, compatible with all exacqVision Hybrid and IP video surveillance systems, incorporates new features and enhancements, and continues our quest for rapid, incremental updates.

Version 3.5 is available for download here. Key features in the 3.5 Release:

  • Support for the new exacqVision EL embedded Linux Hybrid NVR Appliance
  • Export to Quicktime
  • New ACTi camera models support 
  • New Vivotek camera models support
  • POS enhancements

Support for the New exacqVision EL embedded Linux Hybrid NVR Appliance

exacqVision ELexacqVision 3.5 supports our latest product, the exacqVision EL embedded Linux Hybrid. exacqVision EL is a low cost, small-form-factor hybrid NVR appliance, with exceptionally low power consumption and high reliability due to embedded Linux on a solid-state drive. Key features include:

  • High Reliability – embedded Linux on a solid state drive keeps unit functioning even in the event of a hard drive failure
  • True Hybrid – any combination of analog and IP cameras can be connected. Use existing analog cameras now, add up to 24 IP cameras now and in the future.
  • Compact Chassis – 1.5U chassis can be used in tight spaces
  • High Energy Efficiency – very low power consumption, cool running, low cost of operation
  • Low Cost - one of the least expensive, true hybrid systems on the market today
  • High Performance – optimized for the latest Intel Atom microprocessor
  • Full exacqVision Functionality – all of the capabilities and feature of exacqVision VMS software is included. Use as stand-alone, or as part of larger enterprise systems.

Export to QuickTime

QuickTimeVersion 3.5 adds the ability to export video clips to QuickTime .mov files.  QuickTime export is available in Windows, Linux and Mac versions of the exacqVision client.

QuickTime is the latest addition to the video export capabilities of the exacqVision client. In addition to QuickTime, video came be exported to AVI files as well as stand-alone executable files with an embedded multi-camera exacqVision ePlayer.



New ACTI IP Camera Models

ACTiA number of new IP cameras from ACTi have been introduced recently, including megapixel H.264 models, and support for these has been added in Version 3.5.

New supported models include the TCM-4301 and ACM-3511. Support has also been added for the ACD-series of multi-channel servers, which includes the ACD-2200, ACD-2300, and ACD-2400.



New Vivotek IP Camera Models

VivotekSupport has been added for a number of new Vivotek IP camera models including the IP7160, IP7161, IP7330, PZ7131, PZ7132, FD7141, and the PZ7111/PZ7121.



POS Enhancements

Version 3.5 introduces a number of usability enhancements to the live and search POS (Point of Sale) display including:

  • simplified start and end of transaction
  • real-time italicizing of the current transaction


Playback Optimization
Version 3.5 introduces considerable optimization of real-time forward playback of MPEG4 or H.264 video. This optimization results in more fluid, real-time playback even if a client workstation is unable to keep up with decompression of all frames.



Recent Releases

With this release we continue to make rapid progress with exacqVision, and incremental releases have hit about every 2 months. A large number of new features have been added in a short period of time. You can see the full release history of exacqVision here:

Download and Installation
As always, the latest versions of exacqVision client and server software can easily and quickly be copied over existing versions while retaining all user settings. The latest versions can always be downloaded from the exacqVision Downloads page, or you can click on ‘Check for Updates‘ within the ‘About‘ box in the exacqVision software.

exacqVision Server software is available in both Windows and Linux versions, and the exacqVision client software is available in Windows, Linux and Macintosh native versions. Any version of exacqVision client can connect to any version of exacqVision server.
