At Butiksleverantör in Stockholm with Gate Security

Gate SecurityKarlstad, Sweden-based Gate Security AB specializes in physical security, access control and video surveillance systems for the retail market, and had a booth at Butiksleverantör, the largest retail trade fair in Sweden, held earlier this week at the new Kista Expo Center in Stockholm.

Thomas Rasi, Marketing Director of Gate Security, reported that they had high traffic and great interest at their booth:

Butiksleverantör was a great success for Gate Security. We had many demos and the interest in the exacqVision product was very high. A lot of good leads and a nice promotion of Exacq.  We had two main demo stations, one with 3 monitors and one with 4 monitors , and we had online connection with exacqVision servers in other locations throughout the country, all making for impressive demos.

We’ve enjoyed a long partnership with Gate Security.  They have amassed an impressive clientele, having installed exacqVision video management systems for a large number of retail customers, including the ICA chain of Supermarkets and Hypermarkets throughout Sweden, as well as a diverse array of sites such as the Kalmar Airport, the Gröna Lunds Tivoli amusement park, a number of municipalities including Svenljunga and Arvika, and even the backstage studio surveillance for the popular Let’s Dance program on TV4.

SBSCAdditionally, Gate Security holds the distinction of being one of the first companies in Sweden with engineers to be certified in CCTV by the Svensk Brand & Säkerhetscertifiering AB (SBSC), the country’s leading organization for certifying companies, products, management processes and personnel within fire protection and crime prevention, ensuring all video surveillance systems they install conform to the SSF-1060 standard for CCTV video.

Our congratulations to the entire group at Gate Security for a successful trade fair.  Gate Security can be reached as follows:

New International Localization Support

exacqVision international supportVersion 3.4 adds four more language localizations to the exacqVision client:

  • Castilian Spanish
  • Chilean Spanish
  • Catalan/Valencian
  • Slovakian

We utilize a Pootle translation server for collaborative localizations, the same method used by software packages such as Firefox, WordPress and OpenOffice. This enables our international partners to have specific localized versions for their markets.  With the addition of these four, the total number of localizations so far is 12, with many more under development.

Recent Releases

With this release we continue to make rapid progress with exacqVision, and incremental releases have hit about every 2 months. Through these releases over the last year we’ve added a large number of new features. You can see the full release history here.

As always, the latest versions of exacqVision client and server software can easily and quickly be copied over existing versions while retaining all user settings. The latest versions can always be downloaded from our Downloads page, or you can click on ‘Check for Updates‘ within the ‘About‘ box in the exacqVision software.

exacqVision Server software is available in both Windows and Linux versions, and the exacqVision client software is available in Windows, Linux and Macintosh native versions. Any version of exacqVision client can connect to any version of exacqVision server.

Exacq at SecTech in Oslo with Vicon Norway

SecTech NorwayOur Norwegian distributor Vicon Norway was exhibiting at the SecTech Norway tradeshow held earlier this week in Oslo. Vicon Norway has seen a great deal of success selling exacqVision in their country.  Tore Anderson, Managing Director of Vicon Norway, sent us the following report from the show:

Our main focus at the exhibition was IP megapixel cameras, video management systems and video analytics. We featured megapixel cameras from ACTi and Arecont Vision, along with the exacqVision video management software and ioimage video analytics.

We received great positive feedback on the exacqVision system from the installers and end customers visiting our booth, especially with regards to the user friendly interface along with localized language.  We feel that the exacqVision system has a strong position in the Norwegian market alongside our competitors like Mirasys and Milestone.

Norwegian is one of the many language localizations included in the exacqVision VMS software. Our congratulations to Tore and the whole team at Vicon Norway for a successful exhibition.  They can be reached as follows:

Focus on Schools: Sage Technology Solutions

Sage Technology SolutionsSecurity integrator Sage Technology Solutions had a booth at the Pennsylvania Educational Technology Expo held a couple weeks back at the Hershey Convention Center.  Sage has long been involved in the sales, integration and service of Audio/Video and IT equipment to schools in central Pennsylvania, and more recently has become a leading integrator for access control and video surveillance into schools.

At the Expo, attended by educators, administrators and IT personnel throughout Pennsylvania, Sage was demonstrating the cost benefit of moving to megapixel IP cameras and reducing camera count, as well as the ease-of-use and cross-platform capability of exacqVision

One of the more interesting aspects of their booth was the use of the exacqVision client projected on a PolyVision TS Interactive Whiteboard, enabling whiteboard interactivity with the video surveillance software. This made for a compelling demonstration and use of exacqVision.

Sage has a large installed base of access control and IP video surveillance systems in schools and healthcare facilities, focusing on brands such as Exacq and MAXxess Systems.  As one of the leading integrators in the state, they team project management and sales together for all proposals, and provide the customer with as-built detailed drawings and training after the installation.  We’re proud to have Sage as one of our Certified Resellers.  They can be reached as follows:
