Report from ASIS 2007 Las Vegas

Exacq at ASIS 2007 6We’ve been exhibiting at the big ASIS 2007 tradeshow in Las Vegas this week, which just ended yesterday.  It has been a whirlwind of activity, and our booth was packed all three days.

We showed some new things:

Linux: we showed Linux versions of both exacqVision server and client software.  We’ve been running Linux versions of our software internally and at some beta sites for many months with great success and we plan to release it in the November timeframe.  The first distribution is Ubuntu 6.06.  On the server side, you get identical exacqVision functionality and performance under both Windows and Linux.  Windows clients can  connect to both Windows and Linux servers.  The Linux exacqVision client is virtually identical to the Windows version, save for some minor aesthetic differences between the two operating systems.  The complete list of IP cameras we support are also fully supported in our Linux version.

The IP camera vendors, and many of our integrators, were very enthusiastic about the upcoming availability of Linux, as that is increasingly becoming a requirement.

Version 2.8:  We showed the upcoming version 2.8 of exacqVision, which will be released in mid-October.  Among other features, highlights of 2.8 we showed were Vivotek IP camera support; Zoom Box – instant zooming on a selected area; Drag-and-Drop, an enhance to the multiple monitor support that allows for seamless drag-and-drop of video cameras and other elements between screens, making for a more highly-integrated client.

Rep Meeting: We had a great meeting with our North American Manufacturers Rep firms, as well as some international distributors, Monday night at the Gordon Biersch Brewing Company.  Good food, good beer, and an opportunity to discuss our product, sales and marketing plans for the next few months with them all.  Thank you all for attending.

Exacq highlighted in Seminar: We certainly want to express our appreciation to Roy Bordes of The Bordes Group, a security consulting firm, for highlighting Exacq in his Tuesday seminar What’s New On The Floor 2007.  We were one of about 15 vendors Roy featured for having new and innovative products.

Below are some pictures from our booth.  More pictures are available here.  ASIS moves to Atlanta next year, and we’ll be there.

Report from ISC East – Security Operations Center

Exacq in the Security Operations Center at ISC EastWe’re in the Security Operations Center (SOC) Pavilion at the combined ISC East / InfoSecurity shows in New York this week.  The SOC Pavilion showcases the convergence of IT security and Physical Security, and is being organized by IPVS Magazine.

We’re showcasing the exacqVision IP video surveillance software, connected to many IP cameras in the Pavilion from Axis and other vendors.  We’re using just a laptop as our server at this station.  Since we take advantage of intelligence at the edge devices, such as motion detection at the camera end, our processor requirements at the server end are low, enabling more reliable and lower cost servers.

ISC East continues through Wednesday.  If you’re attending the show, please stop by.  Info on ISC East is here.

Arecont Vision’s Featured NVR Partner

Arecont Vision and ExacqOur friends at Arecont Vision, who manufacture a full line of megapixel IP video cameras, sent out on Friday the inaugural edition of MegaConnect, a monthly e-newsletter for their customers and channel.  We are very pleased that Exacq Technologies was chosen as their first “NVR Partner of the Month”.  Here’s what they wrote:

We are pleased to announce Exacq Technologies as our featured NVR partner of the month. The Exacq platform is easy to use and reasonably priced. In addition, all Arecont Vision cameras work well with their software, including Arecont’s popular 8360 and 8180 Panoramic 8 Megapixel IP Video Cameras.

According to Exacq President, Dave Underwood, “Arecont Vision has burst onto the scene with a robust line of powerful, cost-efficient network cameras. The demand for this type of quality and value in the marketplace made them an instant target for us as an integration partner. We now work hand in hand with them to present the power and convenience of the exacqVision solution with Arecont Vision’s megapixel cameras.”

Started by a group that pioneered digital video surveillance, Exacq Technologies designs and manufactures complete IP video surveillance solutions and OEM products. exacqVision IP is an easy to use network video recorder for any size installation. The software installs on an off-the-shelf PC or is available as a complete system. exacqVision Pro is a hybrid system that allows security professionals to leverage existing analog infrastructure and cutting-edge IP cameras on one system.

exacqVision supports the full line of Arecont megapixel IP video cameras.  Our complete list of supported IP cameras is here:
